Trike devotees from across the nation gathered in Esk on 16 March to celebrate the United Trikers Australia group’s AGM, starting with an enjoyable country ride from the Brisbane Valley Roasters.

Established with a mutual aim of riding and relishing the camaraderie of fellow trikers, the group hosts AGMs in various locations nationwide, with the most recent AGM in South East Queensland, held in Toowoomba back in 2009.

United Trikers Australia member Darryn Klein, who helped organise the inaugural Esk event, said the region was the perfect setting for this year’s meeting.

“We’ve got club members from South Australia, Victoria, Queensland, and all over the country,” he said.

“We have about 57 trikes here. It’s been perfect weather, it’s been great to have such a great turnout.”

Saturday’s ride saw the trikers travelling from Esk to Fernvale, up to Kilcoy for lunch, with a scenic drive along the Somerset Dam.

The group held its AGM at the Esk Grand Hotel on Saturday night, with riders heading down to enjoy the Fernvale Markets on Sunday, March 17.
