NOTIFICATION OF CHANGE TO 2024 COUNCIL MEETING SCHEDULE

In accordance with section 254C of the Local Government Regulation 2012, Council advises that the April Ordinary Council Meeting will be held on Wednesday 24 April 2024, commencing at 9am.

GARDEN COMPETITION ENTRIES NOW OPEN

Laidley Spring Festival Garden Competition entries are now open! This year’s categories include:

• Best Small Residential Garden

• Best Rural Garden

• Best Community Garden

• Best Business/School/Commercial Garden

• Best Novice Garden

Head to www.laidleyspringfestival.com or Council’s Gatton or Laidley Customer Service Centres for an entry form. Entries close August 2 2024.

STREET PARADE ENTRIES NOW OPEN

The Laidley Spring Festival Grand Street Parade is back! If you are a community group, local business or school and want to participate, please email lockyerevents@lvrc.qld.gov.au for an entry form. The 2024 theme is ‘Spring Magic’, and entrants can be with a float or a walking group.

FREE COMMUNITY TREE PLANTING EVENT

Get your hands dirty planting native seedlings with us. Help reinstate an endangered ecosystem and create koala habitat by coming along to our community tree planting day this Sunday. All planting equipment provided. Please bring your own hat, dress sun-smart/weather appropriate and wear closed-toe shoes. Free sausage sizzle and refreshments provided.

LOCKYER VALLEY HERITAGE FESTIVAL 2024

The annual Heritage Festival is back this month, showcasing the Lockyer Valley’s rich and vibrant history. Mark Saturday 27 April in your diary and join us at Das Neumann Haus, Cafe & Museum, Gatton & District Historical Village and Laidley Pioneer Village & Museum from 8am to 3pm. Activities and entertainment include blacksmith and woodworking displays, sheep shearing, spinners and weavers, vintage cars and engines, children’s activities and facepainting, horse drawn carriage rides, live music, the famous big brekkie and more!

ANZAC DAY 2024

On Thursday 25 April, the nation will pause to remember our fallen. Council encourages community members to show their respects by attending one of the many services held across the region. All current and ex-service men and women, people representing ex-service personnel, schools, and sporting and community groups are invited to participate in Anzac Day marches.
