Celebrate the beauty of Earth and its environment at Friends of the Forest’s Earth Day celebration.

Held at the Linville Progress Hall from midday until 3:30pm, the event is in honour of International Earth Day on Sunday 21 April.

Friends of the Forest president Carolita Fuentes said there was something for everyone at the celebration.

“The event will include delicious and healthy food by our inhouse cook extraordinaire, a pop-up op-shop stall and a dance party to finish off the afternoon,” she said.

“There will be something for all ages.

“Landholders, farmers, agriculturalists, gardeners and land carers will find a lot of support in the information that will be presented.”

The highlighted speaker is Dr Sandra Tuszynska, who will present an audio/visual talk on soil health and regenerative agriculture.

Dr Tuszynska is an agricultural scientist, specialising in soil microbiology and ecology, with great respect for the microscopic life which supports all other life forms.

As a passionate public speaker and science communicator, she has created the Soil Restoration Course focused on soil biodiversity and ecology, to help land managers restore soil ecosystems.

Be sure to catch her talk from 2pm-3pm.

Entry is free and registrations can be made by emailing friendsoftheforest17@gmail.com
