BORUMBA PUMPED HYDRO PROMOTES JIMNA ECONOMY

Considerable action of late associated with the geological survey work being undertaken at the site of the upper reservoir some 12 kilometres north east of Jimna is boosting commercial activity within Jimna township, and also creating a demand for service related requirements, while access roads to this site are in the process of being upgraded along Sunday Creek and Yielo roads.

Community liaison personnel attached to the construction of the two new dams, the power lines and the battery storage facilities have also been active in Jimna and surrounding properties, creating a very positive buzz of confidence in the future economic growth of Jimna.

JIMNA MEMORIAL PLOT AND BORA RINGS

The Jimna Fire Tower Redevelopment has written to Somerset Regional Council asking for affirmative action regarding these projects.

It was reiterated that the Jimna Fire Tower site is the preferred Plan A location for a public display depicting the legacy of master Fire Tower builder Arthur Leis, while beside the Jimna Public Hall toilets is the Plan B location, which would also include a Jimna community Memorial Plot, to commemorate our pioneers, forebears, and first nations people.
