Esk Skatepark hosted the Roadshow Rumble Tour on Thursday, 27 June, inviting local skateboarders to learn from the best.

The Rumble head of development Donny Fraser said he was excited to bring the Rumble Roadshow to Esk.

“We get some of the top opens pro riders and in the lead up to every major event we go out to community, like the Origin fan days,” he said.

“The guys come out here, they do a demo and signing, they run a clinic for the kids and give them a heap of board vouchers.

“It’s a bit of a taste of all things skating.”

Esk kids learnt skills from Hamed Anvari, an Afghanistan refugee turned professional skateboarder, who was more than happy to give to the community.

“They’re all proud to do it and it’s really good to see them get involved with all the kids in the town as well,” Fraser said.

“We were in the Lockyer Valley in Gatton last Saturday night and that was great.

“We had families from New Zealand all over the place come, which was awesome.

“Then yesterday [Wednesday, 26 June], we were out at Flagstone with another one of the roadshows, so it’s been a really good week leading into the main event on Saturday in Ipswich.”

On Saturday, 29 June The Rumble held the BMD Eastern Rumble at a new facility in Redbank Plains.
